Lindsey graduated from high school in 2012 and initially began her college career at the University of Oklahoma. She chose to major in psychology because she really enjoyed the introductory courses she took in her first year. She was passionate about this subject and wanted to pursue a career path where she could help others. After exploring many options Lindsey decided she wanted to pursue a career as a counselor.
In 2015 Lindsey moved here to Lubbock to finish out her Bachelor's degree at Texas Tech with the goal of attending graduate school. During her time at Texas Tech she added a minor in addictive disorders and recovery studies in order to learn more about the addictions field. She also worked in a research lab that specifically looked at the effects of addiction on the brain. She graduated with a bachelor's degree with a major in psychology and a minor in addictive disorders and recovery studies. She was accepted into the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's program at Texas Tech and graduated with a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling in May 2019.
Following graduation, she received basic training in EMDR which is a type of trauma therapy that can be helpful in counseling individuals with addictions. Lindsey has experience working with clients ages 18+ who struggle with substance use disorders, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, depression, body image issues, and trauma.
Lindsey takes a compassion-centered approach in her therapy and utilizes treatment modalities depending on client needs which may include CBT, EMDR, parts work, DBT, and many more. Lindsey has worked in treatment programs geared towards treating substance use and co-occurring issues and has the most experience in these areas. Hardships are inevitable and she believes you can either let these hardships break you or you can rise above the circumstances that try to pull you down. She hopes to give others hope that healing is possible and life can be a meaningful and beautiful experience if you are open to it.
Lindsey is currently available for in-person and virtual sessions on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays during the day, as well as Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.
Lindsey accepts private pay, as well as United Healthcare, Baylor Scott & White, FirstCare, and Aetna. She sees clients at our South Lubbock address, which is located at 2507 79th St. Suite B.
