Holly Mattia is an LPC-Associate supervised by Mirandi Edwards, LPC-S. She works with individuals, couples, and families ages 17 and older. Holly supports clients navigating substance use disorders, behavioral addictions, anxiety and mood disorders, dual diagnosis, identity development, and life transitions. Her therapeutic approach is primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), while also integrating concepts from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to create an individualized and collaborative therapeutic experience.
Holly believes therapy should feel supportive, empowering, and grounded in genuine human connection. She approaches counseling from a culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and social justice-oriented lens, recognizing the ways systemic barriers, life experiences, and environmental stressors can impact mental health and recovery. Holly works collaboratively with clients to help them better understand themselves, build on their existing strengths, and move toward meaningful and sustainable change. Holly strives to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and understood.
Holly earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Behavioral Science from Western Michigan University in 2023, where she also minored in Addiction Studies. She then earned her Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Addictions Counseling from Marquette University. Holly is currently pursuing her PhD in Addictive Disorders and Recovery Studies at Texas Tech University.
