Dr. Nicole Black, PhD, LPC-S, LCDC has over seventeen years of experience in the mental health field and has been a LPC for ten years. She works with individuals of all ages and backgrounds and has extensive experience working with youth who have behavioral and emotional issues. Dr. Black completed her Master’s in Counseling from Texas Tech University in 2012 and was licensed in 2015. She completed her doctorate in Counselor Education and Leadership from Texas Tech University in 2017. Dr. Black has published scholarly works, provided consultations and trainings on complex trauma, dissociative disorders, and functional neurological disorder.
Dr. Black treats trauma survivors of sexual and physical abuse, domestic violence, animal attacks, auto accidents, and more. She is trained in Trauma-Focused CBT, certified in EMDR Therapy, and is an EMDRIA-approved consultant. Additionally, Dr. Black is a play therapist and has worked with children as young as two and a half. She is trained in Clinical Hypnosis (ASCH), Ego State Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, and Sand Tray therapy. She has clinical experience treating trauma, dissociative, somatoform/conversion, depressive, bipolar, adjustment, anxiety, and panic disorders.
Dr. Nicole Black accepts multiple insurance plans, including Aetna, Team Choice, Baylor Scott & White, and Tricare West. Private pay is also accepted.
