Crissy (she/they) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Master of Social Work degree with a focus on children and families from the University of Southern California. She has over 6 years of experience in the social work and mental health fields, drawing from her career working with foster youth, child abuse prevention agencies, hospital social work, and school-based mental health services.
Crissy uses an eclectic approach when working with clients, tailoring interventions to the client’s needs and experiences. Some of those interventions are CBT, Play Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Sandtray Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and trauma-informed care. Because of her social work background, Crissy works from an ecological perspective and examines how multiple systems and environmental factors contribute to the problems clients face. She knows that a person is not separate from the world they live in, and that it is important to acknowledge how the world affects clients outside of sessions.
Crissy strives to create a radically accepting space where clients can show up as they are, no matter what they may be going through. She knows just how anxiety-inducing it can be to begin therapy services, and prioritizes creating a compassionate, non-judgmental space for all clients. Crissy is passionate about working with children and adolescents, as well as individuals in the LGBTQIA+ community. She is also working to continue her education in play therapy and trauma treatment modalities.
