Forrest Gump said, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get.” There is truth to that statement. I sometimes think life is like a rollercoaster with its ups and downs. I’ve learned, with all my ups and downs over the years, that you can’t do life alone; it’s exhausting. It’s a gift to have a confidential ear that listens, a person who hears you. It’s powerful to have someone come alongside you on your journey in life as you walk your road to resilience and healing. Looking back, counseling saved my life! I know how scary and anxiety-making taking that first step can be. But here, you’re not alone. Here, you will find compassion and empathy from someone who has been there and knows what it’s like. You will find someone who sees you as good, without judgment, with dignity and respect. I welcome you to come find that peace, healing, and inner strength.
I have experience working with those who have been diagnosed with issues across the spectrum, such as Depression, OCD, Anxiety, Bipolar disorder, PTSD, and Schizophrenia. Drawing from my experience in inpatient clinical settings, I also work with those who have personality disorders such as borderline and antisocial personality disorder. Using multiple approaches, including Psychodynamic Theory, CBT, DBT, Rogerian Theory, EFT, Attachment Theory, Developmental Theory, and more, along with a trauma-informed focus, I focus solely on you and your healing.
Not only am I a Licensed Professional Counselor, but I am also a Licensed Sex Offender Treatment Provider. I have been trained and educated to work with those who have sexual offenses, and with those who don’t, but struggle with sexual issues such as sex or pornography addiction, unhealthy attractions, various paraphilias and fetishes, or unwanted sexual behaviors. It is hard to admit when you find yourself with thoughts and desires sexually that you may not want or don’t understand. I will listen and work with you with compassion and empathy.
I welcome the opportunity to work with people of all ages, whether you are an individual, a couple, or a family, from age 12 up to 100. I am here for you and ready to walk the road to resilience with you. I once had a mentor say, “The mind is like a dangerous neighborhood. Don’t venture there alone.” Take the first step, I am waiting and ready for you.
